Services
We are licensed annually by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health, to provide medical services at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level. ALS care is a higher level of emergency medical care and is provided by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) certified at either the Intermediate or Paramedic level.  Typically, ALS includes invasive techniques such as IV therapy and the administration of medications, airway management, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and cardiac monitoring and defibrillation.
Spencer EMS also provides care at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level when appropriate.  Care at the basic level is provided primarily by EMT’s certified at the Basic level.   BLS care typically involves such things as administration of first aid and oxygen, basic airway management, spinal immobilization, vital signs, CPR and defibrillation using and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
We have been providing emergency medical services to the Town of Spencer since July 1959. We have three Class I ambulances housed at our facilities on Bixby Road in Spencer.
